Thieves snatch 80-year-old’s handbag

This dramatic CCTV footage shows the moment an 80-year-old woman was dragged to the ground after she was robbed on her way home.

The woman was walking along Willows Lane in Bolton near Manchester when she noticed a man standing in the road and another by a bus stop.

She continued on her way home and got to her front door when a man approached her, snatchedher bag, causing her to fall to the ground.

Luckily, the woman only suffered cuts and bruises. Her bag was later found and nothing had been taken.

The incident happened last month when the elderly woman went to her local chemist to pick up a prescription, but was unknowingly followed home.

Greater Manchester Police, who released the footage, described the man as being in his late teens and are appealing for any information.
